Easter Pageant Cancelled

In the light of the forthcoming general election, L-Ghaqda Drammatika Ghajnsielem decided to cancel the sixteenth edition of the Easter Pageant. The pageant was usually held on Monday and Tuesday, two weeks before Easter. This is the first time since 1987 that the Easter pageant is not being held.

The pageant always proved to be a success and this was confirmed last year when two other villages, Kercem and Munxar performed two pageants which where held in Ghajnsielem in the previous years.

JoAnne Debrincat wrote (including this year’s) sixteen of the seventeen pageants performed.

Apart from the pageant, L-Ghaqda Drammatika Ghajnsielem organizes the Our Lady of Sorrows Procession, the re-enactment of Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday and the representation of the Last Supper.
