Water culvert in Garden Street

Garden street, Anglu Grech street and the Independence Square used to have serious flooding problems during the winter season. But the residents can now put their mind at rest thanks to the excavation works on a water culvert which started recently.

Mayor Francis Cauchi told Ghajnsielem.com that the water catchments at Benghazi street, Simirat street and Garden street are being constructed in such a way that after heavy rain, the water will flow to the valley beneath Apparition Square from a new underground drain system.

The Ghajnsielem Local Council has kept another promise, this time by implementing a water culvert system to solve the flooding problem for its residents.
