75th Anniversary celebrations continue

Friday Evening:

Under the patronage of HE President of Malta Prof. Guido De Marco and HE Nicholas J Cauchi, Bishop of Gozo the Ghajnsielem Band Club presented a Muziko Letterarja Concert at the Ghajnsielem Parish Church on Friday evening. The Band executed pieces from various famous composers under the direction of the new band director Maestro Sunny Galea and the assistant director Maestro Frank Debono.

The event started off with the presentation of the new Innu lil Madonna ta’ Loreto with the participation of the Lauretana Choir under the direction of Lelio Spiteri. Various distinct personalities read poems while others narrated their experience with Mons. DePiro, founder of St. Joseph Band Club.

The evening ended with a speech from HE President Guido De Marco.

Among the various distinct personalities, the Speaker of the House of Representatives Hon. Anton Tabone, the Mayor of Ghajnsielem Mr. Francis Cauchi and the Vice Parish Priest Fr Joe Cardona attended for this evening.

Afterwards a memorial stone commemorating the 75th Anniversary was unveiled by the President of Malta and blessed by the Bishop of Gozo.

 

Sunday Morning:

The St. Joseph Band Club concluded its 75th Anniversary Celebrations on Sunday morning with a thanksgiving mass. The Mass started at 10am and was celebrated by the head of the confraternity of St. Anthony, Fr. George Bugeja. The mass was also assisted by Fr. Michael Xuereb, Fr. Joe Cardona, Fr. George Cordina and Fr. Carmel Cassar.

Mayor Francis Cauchi and Paul Scicluna, president of the St. Joseph Band Club  were both present. Maestro Frankie Debono directed the orchestra.
