First Holy Communion

It was a special day for 28 children as they received their First Holy Communion on Sunday afternoon. They left the old parish church at 3.45pm and walked to the Ghajnsielem parish together. A mass was then celebrated by Fr Joe Cardona in which the children participated and sang all the hymns leading to the most special moment as each child received the Holy Communion for the first time. The children were taught and prepared for this special day by Sr Carmelina Borg and Mrs Salvina Spiteri.

First Communion is an important event in a Catholic child's life, in which they are fully participating in the Mass and, for the first time, receiving the Bread of Life and the Cup of Salvation.
