Alessandro to contest EP elections

After weeks of speculation, Tolfa Mayor Alessandro Battilocchio has confirmed that he will be contesting the European Parliament elections next June. Alessandro, who is also the youngest elected mayor in Italy will be contesting under the "United Socialists for Europe" cap. The EP elections will be held on the 12th and 13th of June.

He was elected vice-mayor of Tolfa at the age of 19 before being elected mayor four years later. His slogan for next June's elections will be "Facce nuove, Idee chiare" (New Faces, Clear Ideas).
