Ghajnsielem.com turns two years old!

With an average of more then 900 visitors per day and almost 180,000 hits per month your favourite website is now two years old.

The idea of having a website dedicated solely to our village started on March 2002 when Joseph Sultana, Kevin Cauchi and Anthony Scicluna decided to launch Ghajnsielem.com. The aim was to keep the emigrants and local citizens up-to-date with what's happening in our village. Ghajnsielem.com was born three months later (1st July 2002).

Ghajnsielem.com was proudly the first website in Gozo to transmit an event live on the internet. In fact it was only two months after its launch that Ghajnsielem.com transmitted the Feast of Our Lady of Loreto live on the Internet. A short video sequence of Our Lady of Loreto on her way back to the church as seen by our live webcam is still available in the Feast section (click here). On December 2002 Ghajnsielem.com had three webcams transmitting live video images from the Christmas Village and the same number of webcams were available for last year's feast.

Ghajnsielem.com will soon re-launch the section dedicated to L-Ghaqda ta' l-Armar. The section will now include a new photo gallery and a frequent news update. And for the year ahead, Ghajnsielem.com is planning to re-launch the Local Council and the M.U.S.E.U.M sections with more featured articles, photos and news updates.
