Feast Celebrations kick off

Tuesday was a busy day for l-Ghaqda tal-Armar as they were working hard to finish the decorations in time for the start of the official celebrations. In the evening, the titular statue of Our Lady of Loreto was taken out of its niche and taken to the Old Parish Church accompanied by St Joseph Band.

The titular statue will be taken back to the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Loreto next Monday during a band march from Garden street with the participation of St. Joseph Band. It was the first day of a whole two weeks of celebrations which are marking the 150th anniversary of the Parish.

Meanwhile, l-Ghaqda tal-Armar inaugurated the so called "Triumphal Door of Our Lady of Loreto". This was placed in the main entrance of the main square and features the famous Black Madonna, which is synonymous with the basilica of Loreto.

Slowly the huge square, which once was told that it is impossible to fill with decorations during the days of the feast, is now being completed thanks to the hard work and dedication of these people.
