Saturday:  150 Good Reasons to Celebrate!
(Saturday, 27th August 2005)

Crowds of people from all over Gozo intermingled with the Ghajnsilmizi on Saturday evening to enjoy the feast of Our Lady of Loreto. In the morning, the vicar general, Mgr Giovanni B. Gauci, lead a concelebrated Mass and intone the Te Deum. At 6.30 p.m. Mgr Lawrence Xerri lead the Pontifical Translation of the relic followed by singing of solemn vespers and Mass.

External activities started at 9.00pm when Mnarja Band played marches from Garden Street to the Main Square where the same band performed a musical program. Meanwhile hundreds of enthusiastic youngsters accompanied St Joseph Band and Victoria's 'Banda La Stella' from Hamri street to the main square. The evening ended with a huge firework display.
