Loreto!

Ghajnsielem is
today celebrating the feast of Our Lady of Loreto and the
Parish's 150th Anniversary. This morning Gozo Bishop Nicholas
Cauchi led a pontifical concelebrated Mass.
A relic from Loreto, Italy, was later presented to archpriest
Canon Joseph Zerafa.
The traditional horse and donkey races was held in Mgarr Road
at 1.30 p.m.
At 5.30pm, the
Victory Band played marches from Hamri Street while St Joseph
Band played marches from Apparition Square. Both marches ended
in the main Square.
The procession with the
statue of Our Lady of Loreto, led by Nadur
archpriest Mgr Salvatore Muscat and accompanied by
the collegiate chapter started at 7.30 and went
around the main streets of Ghajnsielem. The
procession ended at 10.30pm with the Eucharistic
celebration. The feast ended with the traditional
'Marc ta' l-Ahhar'
