Prize-Day
The Ghajnsielem Local Council together with the main officials of St Joseph Band Club and Ghajnsielem F.C. attended the Prize Day which took place in the Ghajnsielem Primary school. To commemorate this event,  Mayor Francis Cauchi presented a set of books for the school library while thanking the School Headmistress for her cooperation and hard work in attempts to give our children knowledge and skills in order to prepare them for future life.

The Headmistress also took the occasion to unveil a large canvas print depicting 'Our Lady of Loreto'. This grandiose print will be situated in a prominent position in the main hall so that all the students can enjoy it. Gozo Minister, Hon. Giovanna Debono and Gozo Bishop, Mgr. Mario Grech were also present for the event.

Titular Statue taken out of its niche
Many people chanted verses and all clapped as the huge protective glass door of the niche was unbolted and opened wide, and the statue was seen emerging forward. The joy and euphoria that surrounded the statue of Our Lady of Loreto is usually only seen in August during the feast. The statue was taken out of its niche as part of the celebrations of the Liturgical Feast and the installation of the new Archpriest on the 10th of December. At the end of the function the archpriest gave a video-recorded message for the emigrants abroad. The video will be delivered during the next few days.

MTL Fest 2006
The 6th day of celebrations ended in style with a three hour live entertainment festival at the Ghajnsielem Parish Centre organized by l-Ghaqda Armar. Over 400 tickets were sold as theater hall was packed with people eager too see what the young Ghajnsilmizi had to offer.

Veronica and Joe d-Dulli entertained the crowd throughout all the event with their spontaneous jokes and stories. The event started with a short video-clip demonstration showing the highlights of last August's feast. Many were seen chanting 'Viva x-Xemx' as the video was being played. The show then offered a variety of songs, comedies and dances. Many were left impressed with the local talent and were left wondering what these youth can offer for the future. The event ended with a short musical comedy were several members of the Ghaqda Armar dressed as a woman.
