The Cultural Committee met for the first time this evening in order to discuss the initial activities and ideas which in the future will form part of the so called 'Ghajnsielem Cultural Calendar'. High on the agenda were the activities for the 'Jum Ghajnsielem' (10th December) and the upcoming festive season. The idea to revive the Christmas Village in the main square was as also raised. The committee will be meeting again during the first week of October in order to finalize the whole programme of activities.

The aim of this committee is to improve the quality of life through cultural activities and exhibitions throughout the year. It will be autonomous in its working and will be responsible for the Ghajnsielem Cultural Calendar. Another priority will be that of discovering the hidden talent that our village offers.

The committee members are representing all NGO's in Ghajnsielem namely the Ghajnsielem Football Club, St Joseph Band Club, the Parish, St Anthony's Community, L-Ghaqda Armar, Ghaqda Drammatika Ghajnsielem, the Ghajnsielem Primary School and the Boy's Museum. It is being chaired by Mayor Francis Cauchi.
