During the last few years,
Wednesday was hardly included in the external feast
activities as no particular event used to be organized.
A traditional dinner used to be held in the main square
but this tradition died out during the last 4 / 5 years.
Everything changed when last year Mons. Joseph Zerafa
organized the first 'Lejla Marjana'. The aim behind this
vigil night was to bring a religious element in the
external activities. The formula proved to be a success
and this year's event organized by Archpriest Frankie
Bajada proved this.
Hundreds if Ghajnslemizi
crowded the main square as Dun Gorg Bezzina, Archpriest
of Fontana led the prayers while Gozo Bishop Mons. Mario
Grech gave his spiritual thoughts.
