The idea of having a website dedicated solely to our village
started on March 2002 when Joseph Sultana, Kevin Cauchi and
Anthony Scicluna decided to launch Ghajnsielem.com. The aim
was to keep the emigrants and local citizens up-to-date with
what's happening in our village. Ghajnsielem.com was born
three months later (1st July 2002).
Ghajnsielem.com was proudly the first website in Gozo to
transmit an event live on the internet. In fact it was only
two months after its launch that Ghajnsielem.com transmitted
the Feast of Our Lady of Loreto live on the Internet. A short
video sequence of Our Lady of Loreto on her way back to the
church as seen by our live webcam is still available in the
Feast section. On December 2002 Ghajnsielem.com had three
webcams transmitting live video images from the Christmas
Village and the same number of webcams were available for 2004's feast.
Another
milestone for Ghajnsielem.com was reached when Loreto and
Joseph Scicluna launched the Ghajnsielem F.C. section. This
website provides daily news update, match analysis,
video highlights, statistics and detailed information about
the club's illustrious history.
Following the suggestions of
our visitors, on April 2007, Ghajnsielem.com announced the
introduction of an online Chat service. The Chat Room
was called "Il-Pjazza" and the aim is to make this
service a virtual meeting place for all the Ghajnsilmizi
who are living both locally and abroad. Ghajnsielem.com
is working on
a new biography section dedicated solely to those people who contributed
to the development of our village.
As usual
the three favourites sections by our visitors during the
last 12 months were the Ghajnsielem Football Club news
section, the guestbook and the news archive section.

The first presence of
Ghajnsielem on the Internet started back in 1999
when
Kevin Cauchi launched his own personal website dedicated
to Ghajnsielem
It was hosted on Gozo.com (http://www.gozo.com/ghajnsielem).
The site was closed two years later (2001).

The Ghajnsielem Parish's
presence on the Internet started in mid-2000
when Gozodirect offered to dedicated a section from its
Gozo Portal Website to Ghajnsielem. The site was
regularly updated by Joseph Sultana.
The site is still online although it was never updated
since Ghajnsielem.com was launched.
