The Ghajnsielem
Local Council organized a
five-day cultural
visit in Tolfa, Italy for the Year 5 and Year 6 Primary school students.
This trip was made possible thanks to the
European Union Student Exchange Programme.
The twinning between Tolfa and
Ghajnsielem has been active and alive for the past five
years.
Mayor Francis Cauchi told
Ghajnsielem.com that the main aim behind the second student
exchange visit to Tolfa was to
build a good relationship between the two towns among
our young generation while take an opportunity to share
new experiences with each other and learn about each other's culture.
This
time, the exchange was more special due to the fact that Education
Minister Hon. Louis Galea was a special guest of
the Ghajnsielem Local Council.
The group was led by Mayor Francis Cauchi who was
accompanied by councilor Larry Buttigieg and members of
the twinning committee. The children were accompanied by
Miss Paulene Grech (Head of School), Mrs. Sylvana
Agius (Year 6 teacher) and their parents.
On Sunday, many took the opportunity to be present
for the canonization of San Gorg Preca at the Vatican. The group returned back on
Tuesday afternoon.
