Over 50 youths from Ghajnsielem accepted the invitation to join thousands of young people from all over Europe to visit Loreto, Italy this Summer for the Italian National Youth Meeting. The Pope will be meeting the Italian young people from the 28th of August till the 2nd of September. And being a unique occasion, the Italians extended the invitation to other young Europeans and Mediterranean's to enrich the Catholic Italian young people with new experiences and acquaintances.

The Ghajnsielem Parish together with the youths who will be travelling to Italy organized a Car Wash Marathon to raise funds and reduce part of the flight costs for this event. 

The event was held behind the St Joseph Band Club premises which usually serves as a car park. It was described by many as a great hit considering that over 30 cars were washed by hand in just a few hours. Young kids were not left out as a Football Tournament was also organised for those present. To raise more funds several stands sold books, plants and other items to those present.
