British High Commission swap pens for paint brushes
(Wednesday, 7th November 2007)

British High Commission staff swapped pens for paint brushes and other tools recently to carry out maintenance work at Arka Foundation in Ghajnsielem. The staff painted the corridor walls on the main floor of the building apart from other jobs. They also spent some time in the kitchen preparing lunch.

British High Commissioner Nick Archer said they were delighted to be able to help in a small way. The team did a good job, and certainly enjoyed the experience... "But I must confess I don't think I'll be giving up my day job, this was far too much like hard work," he remarked.

The Arka Foundation focuses on safeguarding the interests of people with special needs and of their families. It is a non-profit organisation under the guidance of Mgr Manuel Curmi, providing continuous services to individuals in need, ranging from day programmes to long stays.
