The St Joseph Band Club
opened its doors to the public during an Open Day
activity which included exhibitions, military vehicles
show, drills and talent shows.
The activities started at
9.00am when Military Vehicles from the second World War
were exhibited in from of the Club's premises. At
11.00am, Mayor Francis Cauchi together with veteran
Mikiel Ciangura inaugurated a local talent and photo
exhibition which will remain open until Sunday 31st
August. The exhibition was also visited by Gozo Minister
Hon. Giovanna Debono and Parliamentary Secretary Chris
Said. Many also took the opportunity to see the ongoing refurbishment works
on the Formal Committee Room which next year will host
the Musical Archive.

Lauretana started transmission live from the Club’s premises
at 4.00pm. The evening included several musical performances and dances from
local talents. The Red Cross Gozo
Section also performed a number of drills and
simulations while the young children were kept busy in
the 'jumping castle'. The evening ended with the cutting
of a large "birthday cake" marking the 80th Anniversary
of the St Joseph Band Club.
The event
was organized in collaboration with the Ghajnsielem
Local Council.
