For the third consecutive year, a Marian vigil of prayers was held in the main square. P. Karm Dimech ofm Cap led the prayers while Gozo Bishop Mons. Mario Grech closed the vigil with his spiritual thoughts. Archpriest Can Frankie Bajada then invited the present crowd for a group photo on the church's parvis.

The aim behind this vigil night is to bring a religious element in the external activities. The formula proved to be a success and this can be proved by the strong attendance to this year's event.

During the last few years, Wednesday was hardly included in the external feast activities as no particular event used to be organized. A traditional dinner used to be held in the main square but this tradition died out over 5 years ago.

This evening, a traditional feast dinner was also held in Independence Square.  more
