A total of four schools in Gozo have, in recent months,
benefited from projects involving the installation of
artificial turf pitches in school grounds. The schools
are the Agius de Soldanis Girls’ Secondary school and
the Victoria, Ghajnsielem and Xewkija primary schools.
The new pitch located at the Anton Cassar primary school
in Ghajnsielem was financed through the Foundation for
Tomorrow’s Schools.
During the last few months, the school underwent
embellishment and refurbishment works which included
included the replacement of all window apertures, the
installation of new laminated doors as well as the
laying of artificial turf and soft mats for the
kindergarten students in separate parts of the school’s
playground . The school in collaboration with
the Ministry of Gozo employees also gave a fresh and
colourful new look to the main halls thanks to a new
paint job.
The aim of these projects is to increase and upgrade the
quality of education and sporting facilities, and to
provide students with added opportunities which
encourage participation in sporting events held during
the scholastic year.
