Ferdinando Apap won the Under 20 Snooker Tournament by winning 3-1 against Luke Meilak at the St. Joseph Band Club. In a highly competitive match, Apap won the first frame only for Meilak to produce a fabulous break of 25 to bring the score to 1-1. Apap then deservedly won the next two frames to clinch the first ever under 20 title organized in Ghajnsielem.

The tournament proved popular with these youngsters. A total of twelve players participated; seven of these players never entered a competitive snooker event before. The players were divided into 4 groups of 3 players each. Two players from each group qualified to the quarter finals. There were some surprises too, particularly in the semi final stages were Ferdinando Apap and Luke Meilak eliminated favourites Shaun Attard and Andre Xuereb to reach the final.

The snooker season has now come to an end. A new season of this popular sport will start in mid-September. All activities will be organized by a newly formed and highly motivated sub-committee.
