Today is the feast of
St Anthony of Padua. Official activities started in the
morning with the a concelebrated mass led by the
Provincial Minister Fra Sandro Overend ofm together with
the Franciscan fraternity.
The afternoon
activities started by solemn Vespers led by St Anthony's
choir followed by a concelebrated mass marking Fra
Raymond Falzon ofm's 25 years anniversary from his
ordination to the priesthood.
The St Joseph Band
Club then accompanied the statue of St Anthony around
the main streets of 'Tal-Gudja' area including Gudja
Street, Hamri Street and St Anthony Street. The Mnajra
Band meanwhile entertained the crowds in front of the
Church by performing
a musical programme. The beautiful fireworks displays,
the encouraging crowd participation and the magnificent
street decorations wrapped up a highly successful week
of activities.
