The St Joseph Band Club has
launched the Tile4U scheme which aims to collect money
to fund the refurbishment work on the Formal Committee
Room which is being upgraded to host the Musical
Archive.
A wooden board displaying
225 empty boxes has been placed in the main entrance
hall of the Club. Each box (or tile) represents part of
the marble floor area and is being sold at
€20.
All money raised from this scheme will go directly to
finance the entire floor which totalled in excess of
€4500.
All those who contribute to
this scheme will have their name and address written in
these tiles. In just a few days, over 20 "tiles" have
been sold since a number of benefactors have already
sponsored a tile. All Ghajnslemizi are being urged to
contribute in this initiative to finance this exciting
project. Those who are interested in giving a donation
of €20
can call or send an SMS to Kevin Cauchi on 99459426. A
member of the committee will personally come and collect
your donation.
The people of Ghajnsielem
will also be invited to see the on-going works during an
Open-Day which will be taking place on Sunday 24th
August. Several activities and exhibitions are being
planned. Radju Lauretana will also be transmitting live
from the Band Club's premises. More details will be
announced in the due course.
