Following the re-enactment of
Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem this morning, the Ghajnsielem
Parish organized a re-enactment of all the stages that Christ passed during his
passion and death or in other words the Via Sagra (Triq
tas-Salib).
The
Stations of the Cross (or Way of the Cross; in Latin,
Via Crucis; also called the Via Dolorosa or Way of
Sorrows, or simply, The Way) refers to the depiction of
the final hours (or Passion) of Jesus, and the devotion
commemorating the Passion. The event
started at 5.00pm and the re-enactment was held in the
main square. The peak was reached with the crucifixion
of Christ. This event is organized by L-Ghaqda Drammatika
Ghajnsielem. This is the second time that this event
is being held following last year's success.
