'Ta Passi' Crib  starts to take shape

(Saturday, 25th October
2008)

Works on the 'Bethlehem in Ghajnsielem' project has now entered its third week and the hard work by dozens of volunteers is starting to bear fruit as the live crib is finally starting to take shape. All rubble walls have been restored while several houses in wooden structures are starting to appear at 'Ta Passi' fields.

Drivers and passengers driving from Mgarr Road are curiously looking at 'Ta Passi' fields trying to understand what is happening in this area. The official date for the opening has been announced and will take place on Sunday 7th December at 11.00am. The village will remain open until the 4th of January 2009. Meanwhile, all volunteers are invited to give a helping hand while several actors and extras are needed to animate the crib. More details can be obtained from Franco Ciangura on +356 99849250

'Bethlehem in Ghajnsielem' is an initiative taken by the Ghajnsielem Local Council in particular by Mayor Francis Cauchi who has been dreaming about this project for several years. Several local organizations are collaborating in this project including the Ghajnsielem Parish.

'Bethlehem in Ghajnsielem' was designed and is being managed by Franco Ciangura. It promises to be a major attraction this Christmas season as the whole area of 'Ta Passi' will literally be transformed into a 'live crib' and will offer a naturalistic reproduction of the environ of Bethlehem.

Ghajnsielem.com is bringing you the highlights of the third weekend of works. Enjoy!
