Structural works on
the dome of the Ghajnsielem Archparish Church were completed
today as a towering crane laid the last stone, a circular
globe, on the newly built lantern. The restoration took place after cracks started to develop on the upper
part, leading to water leakage and other related problems.
The stone was laid among the
applause of the Ghajnslemizi who gathered at the Band and
Football Clubs to watch local master mason Leli Saliba (Bufajra)
and his son. Some even dared to climb the scaffolding
structures on the top of the cupola to take a few photos...
