Preparations for Nativity Village '09 start
(Saturday, 18th July
2009)

Although Christmas is still five months away, all local organizations and several volunteers enthusiastically packed the Local Council's Hall in order to discuss the plans and suggest improvements for 'Bethlehem f' Ghajnsielem 09'.

Mayor Francis Cauchi spoke about the long-term plan of turning 'Ta Passi' fields into a park and recreational area. The Mayor emphasized that 'Bethlehem f' Ghajnsielem' will again be open to all local village organizations and this was a great opportunity for everyone to work together for the common good of Ghajnsielem.

Franco Ciangura gave a hint of what 'Bethlehem f' Ghajnsielem 09' will offer while encouraging all volunteers to give their contribution in order to repeat last year's success. Franco Ciangura also spoke about some technical aspects of the nativity village and offered some suggestions for discussion among those present.

Meanwhile, the volunteers will be meeting on Wednesday 5th August from 4.00pm onwards to clean up the rubbish which might have been littered in the fields during the last few months. During the next few weeks, several meetings will also be held with potential sponsors, associations and government entities.

But volunteers will be currently dedicating their time and energy for the upcoming feast of 'Our Lady of Loreto'. The attention will again turn to 'Ta Passi' in September.

Indeed, exciting times lie ahead for Ghajnsielem with a spectacular titular feast this August and another Christmas full of surprises.
