It was a special day for 23
girls and boys as they received their First Holy
Communion last Sunday afternoon. They left the Old
Parish church at 4.45pm and walked to the Ghajnsielem
parish together. A mass was then concelebrated by
Archpriest Can Frankie Bajada. The children participated
and sang all the hymns leading to the most special
moment as each child received the Holy Communion for the
first time.
The
children are Naim Ibrahim Belhadj, Christiana Bugeja,
Chris Farrugia, Kurt Fenech, Rennée Marie Grima, Rebecca
Grech, Twayne Grech, Wayne Hili, Gianella Mallia, Luana
Mercieca, Michaela Mercieca, Ryan Mifsud, Estelle
Scicluna, Austin Lee Stellini, Kyle Sultana, Marija
Vassallo, Nathaniel Xerri, Denise Ann Xuereb, Gerrard
Xuereb, Julian Xuereb, Neil George Xuereb and Mark
Zammit.
First Communion is an important event in a Catholic
child's life, in which they are fully participating in
the Mass and, for the first time, receiving the Bread of
Life and the Cup of Salvation.
