The activities for the feast of St Anthony in Ghajnsielem started today when the statue of St Anthony was taken out of its niche and placed in the main aisle among the enthusiasm and the clapping of the crowd. A concelebrated mass ltarted shortly afterward. At 8.30pm all the street decoration lights in the 'Tal-Gudja' area were lit on as a symbol to signal for the official start of the festive activities.

The highlight of the 9-day long activities will take place on Saturday 30th of May and Sunday of 1st June when the St Joseph Band Club will accompany the statue of St Anthony around the main street of Ghajnsielem in the area known as 'Tal-Gudja'.
