With the recent
visit of Archpriest Fr. Frankie Bajada to the
Cornille-Havard bell foundry in France , the bell project
for our church entered a new phase. Actually the process of
the manufacturing of the bells has started.
With the
designs almost all ready by local artists Paul Stellini and
Vince Caruana, the foundry started work on the low reliefs
which will eventually be part of the bell decorations. Work
is being done so these artistic designs on the bells can
later on be gilded by Rudolph Cauchi.
In the
foundry, work on the moulds for bells 6-8 also started last
week. If everything goes well, and, most important, the
funds continue to raise, there is the possibility that we
can even have the bells by the next feast. Parishioners are
being invited to contribute monthly for this very big
project. Bell number three is inviting donors who can afford
a big donation to be part of it too. The names and coats of
arms of the family name of these donors will be put on this
bell.
