Bells 1 and 5 Lifted
(Sunday, 27th May 2012) 

After a long journey of almost 5 years, all the eight bells were lifted to the imposing belfry of our parish church, dedicated to Our Lady of Loreto. The culmination took place this morning when hundreds of Ghajnslmizi gathered in the main square to witness the lifting of the largest bell, the 5-tonne 'Maria Loreta'. The St Joseph band played the 'Viva x-Xemx' among the applause of the general public as the final set of two bells were finally hoisted in place by the French engineers from the Cornille-Havard foundry in Normandy, France.

The set of bells have finally crowned the majestic bell tower of Ghajnsielem parish church.
