Annual Band Dinner
brings community together
(Friday, 28th December
2007)
Nearly 180 members, bandsmen and guests attended the
annual gala dinner organized by the St Joseph Band Club.
The event took place inside the brand new
Banquet Hall at
the Grand Hotel, Ghajnsielem. Popular Maltese DJ John
Muscat entertained the crowed with songs, jokes and
animation. more
Blacks leapfrog
Sannat into third place
(Thursday, 27th December
2007)
Ghajnsielem bounced back
from the disappointment of the last two matches with a
hard fought 1-0 win over Sannat Lions. Franklee Galea's
first half goal settled the matter. Sannat have been
impressive of late, unbeaten in four outings and winners
of three matches.

Christmas in Ghajnsielem

2007)
On Christmas Eve, Santa Clause kept his
yearly tradition by delivering
gifts to several families. The procession with the
statue of Infant Jesus started at 6pm with the participation
of the St Joseph Band. This year, it was
Christian Dingli's
turn to deliver the 'Priedka tal-Milied'.

10 Points Adrift
(Thursday, 21st December
2007)
Ghajnsielem succumbed to the
unbeaten and untied Nadur Youngsters 1-2 in an evening
match at the Gozo Stadium. The only satisfaction was a
consolation goal from an otherwise ineffective Haruna
Doda, a goal that brought to a halt Jonathan Xuereb's
season long shutout streak.

During the last twelve months, a record

were posted in the news section. The website is also
increasing in popularity with an average of 360 fresh
hits per day. The most popular day was registered on

gets new
Entertainment System

As part of the refurbishment of the
bar/restaurant area, the St Joseph Band Club committee has
just unveiled a state-of-the art entertainment system
for the enjoyment of all its members. The investment
which totals Lm2000 consists of three large
HD displays, DVD player and an 800w digital surround system.

Annual Christmas Dinner

Players, members and supporters crowded
the main hall of the Grand Hotel for a Christmas Gala
Dinner organized by the Ghajnsielem Football Club. This
was the first time that the club organized the Christmas
dinner in this format and the event turned out to be a
success following the good attendance.

Unexpected draw
against Kercem Ajax
(Thursday, 14th December
2007)
To the supporters' dismay
Ghajnsielem F.C. settled for an unexpected 1-1 draw
against last-placed Kercem Ajax.
Larry Buttigieg put the Blacks ahead in the second half,
but Kercem equalized late in the match. Meanwhile the
under/16 side beat St. Lawrence Spurs 4-1.

Liturgical Feast of
Our Lady of Loreto

Ghajnsielem started a new tradition as
the Liturgical Feast of Our Lady of Loreto was celebrated in the form of a procession where the
St Joseph Band Club accompanied the statue of the Black
Madonna around the main streets. At the end of the
procession, a 'Huggiega Lauretana' was lit in the main
square.

An exhibition
showcasing the splendour of the traditional
'Dghajsa tal-latini'
was officially inaugurated
this afternoon by
Mayor Francis Cauchi. The exhibition which being
organized by the
Imperial Gozo Yacht Club
features a unique selection
of small scale models of the lateen-rigged Gozo cargo

MTL Fest offers 3
hours of entertainment
(Friday, 7th December 2007)
For the
second consecutive year, the GSM Youths organized the MTL FEST
'07. The show offered three hours of live entertainment. Over
300 tickets were sold
as the theatre hall was packed with people eager too see
what talents the young Ghajnsilmizi had to offer. J.

'Gieh
Ghajnsielem' goes to Lelio Spiteri
(Thursday, 6th December 2007)
Lelio Spitero
won the 13th edition of the 'Gieh Ghajnsielem' Award for
his outstanding contribution towards the development of the Ghajnsielem
community. Beside volunteering in countless of local
activities, Lelio was instrumental in setting up Radju
Lauretana. Mayor Francis Cauchi handed the award during a special
Gala Dinner organized by the Local Council.

Organizations bring joy and happiness

The first
day of activities of Ghajnsielem Week was dedicated to
the sick and elderly. The mayor together with the
councillors and representatives of the main
organizations brought joy to many elderly and sick
people when they visited their homes late this
afternoon. The happiness that these visits brought to
these homes was tangible.

Lauretana back on air!

This
Saturday marks the beginning of the Christmas Schedule
on Radju Lauretana. Transmissions start at 7.00am. The
schedule provides a wide variety of programs aimed to
please all listeners. A word of thanks goes to all those
involved and who on a purely voluntary basis do their
utmost to run the radio station.

St Cecilia
Chapel about to collapse
(Sunday, 25th November 2007)
Gozo's
only medieval chapel is in imminent danger of collapse
unless restoration is undertaken immediately, a heritage
NGO has warned. Cracks are snaking through seven of the
roof slabs and two slabs have already come away. The
rain is punching holes into the building, inflicting
further damage to a chapel which was vandalised and
torched last August. more

World’ Captain visits Xuereb's Gallery

As 'The
World' cruise liner was anchored outside Mgarr Harbour
during the two days visit, Mr Ivan Mifsud, Managing
Director of Malta Cruise Services, accompanied the
Senior Captain together with the General Manager
on a sightseeing visit in Gozo. Among their itinerary on
the island, they paid a visit to Joe Xuereb's Sculpture
Gallery in Bahhara Street.

Blacks consolidate
3rd place after 5-1 win (Sunday, 25th November 2007)
Ghajnsielem leapt over Sannat Lions and into sole
possession of third place in the table with an efficient
performance and comfortable 5-1 win over Qala St.
Joseph. The Blacks, who welcomed back into the side
striker Haruna Doda and midfielder Jeremy Camilleri,
fielded their strongest XI of the season.

Mgarr
Terminal finally completed
(Friday, 16th November 2007)
The Malta
Maritime Authority has completed work on the Mgarr
terminal and has formally handed it over to Gozo
Channel. After several long delays, the terminal is
finally expected to become operational at the end of
this year once modifications to the ferries are carried
out in order to facilitate the ship-shore interface.

Luxury cruise liner
outside Mgarr Harbour

'The
World' luxury cruise liner was seen anchored outside
Mgarr Harbour, yesterday. Arriving from Sicily this
cruise liner is visiting Gozo for the first time. The
World plans to remain berthed in Gozo for the next two
days, during which its passengers will be free to
explore and experience the island.

Jum it-Tifkira:
Tribute to fallen Heroes
(Sunday, 11th November 2007)
This morning, Ghajnsielem joined the rest of the Commonwealth to
mark Remembrance Day to honour the victims of the
two world wars. Several people gathered to pay tribute to the
victims War Memorial in a short but commemorative ceremony organized by the Ghajnsielem Local
Council.

The Gozo
Cultural Council organized the Feast of Niches, a series
of events highlighting the little street chapels.
Several tours were organised and Ghajnsielem was one of
the localities visited. Of particular interest was a
traditional feast held next to the niche of Our Lady of
Loreto in Għajn Qatet Street, Victoria.

Seminarians start final

Today, four seminarians
were formally accepted to the last phase of their
course for priesthood in a special Admission Rite
celebration presided over by Mgr Mario Grech,

start preparations for the Diaconate and finally

British High Commission helps Arka staff (Wednesday,

2007)
British High Commission staff swapped
pens for paint brushes and other tools recently to
carry out maintenance work at Arka Foundation in
Ghajnsielem. The staff painted the corridor walls on
the main floor of the building apart from other
jobs. They also spent some time in the kitchen
preparing lunch.

Blacks progress in GFA Cup continues (Sunday,

Ghajnsielem F.C.'s
defence of the G.F.A. Cup title continued with an
efficient performance against Sannat Lions. The
Blacks, playing without Haruna Doda, who was serving
the first match of a two-match ban, rode an
energetic performance by Doda's replacement Jerry
Ogbuleke to beat the Lions 2-0.

Animals

Bishop Mario Grech
announced yesterday that Fr. Joe Farrugia will
be joining the Ghajnsielem Presbyterium and will soon
start his pastoral duty in our village. Fr. Joe hails from Gharb
and has recently been appointed as spiritual
director at the Gozo Minor Seminary School. Fr.
Joe is also a licensed psychologist.

Ten memorable days in
Loreto (Wednesday,

The 47 strong youth
group from our parish has returned to Ghajnsielem
following a ten-day tour in Italy. The highlight was
certainly the historical meeting with Pope Benedict XVI
at Montorso. Half a million were present for this event.
The group had the unique opportunity to visit the Holy
House of Loreto.

Festa 2007: The
Highlights in pictures (Wednesday 29th August
2007)
This
year's feast can only be described as “overwhelming”.
Everyone was proud with the great feast that our village
had. The spectacular way that statue of Our Lady of Home
crossed the main square to the pedestal, the 'kaxxa tad-dhul'
and the firework shows impressed the multitude of
crowds. more
Traditional 'Ikla ta' Wara l-Festa' (Monday 27th August
2007)
It was a
three-hour recreational activity for over 120 persons
who accepted the invitation
of the St Joseph Band for a traditional Ikla ta'
Wara l-Festa. Many of those who attended were still
feeling nostalgic about the Feast. The
food was excellent, the company good and the venue, couldn't be better.

Tolfa - Ghajnsielem Renewing our Friendship
Together
A group of
55 residents from Tolfa were among us for the feast of Our Lady of Loreto.
During their stay, the twinning agreement between Tolfa and
Ghajnsielem was renewed in order to continue to build on
the already good relations that exists between the two

Sunday: Feast reaches its climax today
(26th August 2007)
As the
statue of Our Lady of Loreto emerged from the main door
of the church thousands of people started clapping and
chanting 'Ave Maria'. The glitter of joy in the eyes of
the Ghajnselmizi and their sense of pride was certainly
visible. This year, the traditional 'Kaxxa' also wowed
the crowed as a simultaneous number of fireworks were
spectacularly displayed.

celebrations in years
(25th August 2007)
Hundreds of enthusiastic
youngsters assembled in Hamri Street for the
traditional 'Marc ta’ lejlet il-festa". Several
ground-fireworks were displayed along the street as rain of confetti and papers thrown from
private roofs
never stopped. Over
60 fire-planes simultaneously crossed the main
square while a grand firework display ended this fantastic
evening.

The statue of Our Lady of Home
was accompanied by St Joseph Band and Xewkija's 'Prekursur'
as the youths celbrated in style. This march is
traditionally called 'Tal-Balzunetta' and starts from
Mgarr Road. At midnight the statue was placed on

Simirat Street Band March
(Thursday, 23nd August 2007)
The St Joseph Band Club made
a surprise visit to 'Piazza La Tolfa' where a group of
60 people from Tolfa people were hosted to traditional
Maltese dinner. The Italians started to sing and clap
with joy as they heard the the popular 'Viva x-Xemx'.
The band was later joined by Qala's 'Ite ad Joseph'.

During the last few years,
Wednesday was hardly included in the external feast
activities. Everything changed when the first 'Lejla
Marjana' was orginized. The aim behind this vigil night
was to bring a religious element in the external

Tuesday: A Memorable Concert

The St. Joseph Band
directed by Mro Sunny Galea and assisted by Mro Frankie
Debono performed its annual Instrumental Concert in
front of
over 300 guests at the main square. The renewal
of the Twinning Agreement between Tolfa and Ghajnsielem was
also signed in the presence of distinctive guests.

Another
traditional fair organized by the St Joseph Band Club
on the eve of the feast week proved to be a success. In just a
few hours, it managed to attract hundreds of Ghajnsilmizi - both young and old.
Many also took the opportunity to buy a few tickets for
the grand lottery that will be drawn on the 27th of

Fuq il-Ghajn' BBQ (Friday,

2007)
Another activity for 'Jum l-Emigranti', this time
in the form of a traditional BBQ, was held on 'Ta' fuq il-Ghajn' street. The event was fully booked and
well over 300 attended. The food was excellent, the
company good and the atmosphere couldn't be better. The
pre-feast euphoria and excitement were certainly the
order of the day. more
British Brass Band
entertains the crowd (Friday,

2007)
Today,
the feast activities were dedicated to our emigrants who
are currently among us. The St. Stythians Band played a
musical brass concert in the main square. Another
activity, this time in the form of a traditional dinner
was held on 'Triq ta' fuq il-Ghajn' street. The event
was fully booked and over 300 attended.

The external celebrations
for the Feast of Our Lady of Loreto started today
with the Ghajnsielem Fest Music festival. Many local talents
took part in the event which was presented by Lelio Spiteri
and Lorietta Buttigieg. The main square was literally

68 Years of Love and Dedication (Thursday,

It was
indeed a special day for Mikiel Cinagura and Maria Anna
when Gozo Bishop Mario Grech made a surprise visit
during their 68th wedding anniversary. Mr and Mrs
Ciangura were attended by their 9 children Guza, Loreta,
Gorg, Wenzu, Toni, Fredu, Lucy, Giacinta and Maria. They

One of
the attractions on Santa Maria is surely the traditional
Wirja tal-Biedja u Snajja', organised every year at the
leafy Villa Rundle gardens. During the exhibition,
various competitions related with the agriculture sector
were held. Franco Ciangura placed 1st in the 'Fruit &
Vegetable Carving' category.

moments relived in Photo Exhibition

exhibition depicting the illustrious history of the
Ghajnsielem Football Club was inaugurated today by Mayor
Francis Cauchi and Mr. Peter Caruana, Ambassador of the

Excellency paid a visit to the station after being

Spiteri interviewed the Bishop. Bishop Grech addressed
the listeners, telling them that he was so satisfied
that Ghajnsielem Parish was providing such a service to
its parishioners, both living in Ghajnsielem and abroad. more

A new
schedule announcing the program line-up for the next 7
days was published now that Radju Lauretana enters its
2nd week of transmission. Telephone calls, smses and
emails keep coming as the station gears up for the feast

New GSM Youths website unveiled

The 'Ghaqda
Armar' section in Ghajnsielem.com is being replaced by a
new website dedicated to the GSM Youths Group. The
website incorporates the Ghaqda Armar, Lauretana Center,
10th December Group, the talent youths and other related
activities.

Local Council keeps promise on new roads

2007)
Now that
Wied ir-Rajjes and Cordina street are completed, the
Council kept its promise of resurfacing all the roads
that fall under its jurisdiction. 95% of the roads in
Ghajnsielem are tarmaced. The results of this policy are
finally being reaped and the Council will now start
focusing on other exciting projects.more
Large Delegation from Tolfa for the Festa
(Tuesday, 7th August
2007)
A
strong delegation of 60 people from Tolfa will be
among us for the upcoming feast. The group will be
staying for 7 days and hosted by several local families.
A close friendship already exists between the people of
Ghajnsielem and Tolfa and this trip will certainly renew
it.

Ghajnsielem is enthusiastically preparing to celebrate
the Feast of Our Lady of Loreto which is now just a few
days away. The official activities start on Sunday the

radio station! (Sunday,
5th August
2007)
The beginning of Radju Lauretana … a dream has come
true. Live transmissions started today as the Viva x-Xemx
was aired together with the Antifona. You could see
parishioners crying with joy when our wonderful antifona
was heard on the waves for the very first time. People
flocked to see the studio and the total set up.
Donations poured in so much so that more than Lm1000
were collected in a couple of hours.

Annual Feast Magazine

2007)
During the next few weeks, the St Joseph Band Club
will be freely distributing the 2007 Annual Feast
Magazine to all the Ghajnsielem households. This
year, the publication will offer over 80 featured
articles related with the village of
Ghajnsielem. The Club Committee will also be
collecting the lottery tickets.

Moon,
Jupiter observation session
(Monday, 23rd July
2007)
The
Astronomical Society of Malta held an observation
session of the first quarter moon and the planet
Jupiter, among other celestial objects. A number of
telescopes were set up for public-use behind the St
Joseph Band Club premises (car-park). The session
started at 8.30pm and was well attended by the general

Exciting day at the
Splash and Fun Park
(Wednesday, 11th July
2007)
A group
of 57 children accompanied by several adults enjoyed a
full day of fun and excitement at the Splash and Fun
Park in Malta! Many children took a thrilling ride
down one of the water slides or floated around the lazy
river. The activity was organized by St Joseph Band
Club. more
Traditional Fair draws the crowd

Many
decided to take their chance and try to win a variety of
prizes during a traditional fair organized by the St
Joseph Band Club. The fair was organized to raise funds
for the musical archive which the Club will be
inaugurating next year on the 80th anniversary.

Bryan Adams

2007)
Hundreds
of Ghajnsilmizi crossed to Malta to watch the energetic
Bryan Adams pumping over 20,000 people with enough
adrenaline to dance for two hours of his greatest hits
at the Luxol Grounds. But Amanda Said was in ecstasy
after she was picked to meet with the superstar
personally on the backstage.

The St Joseph
Band Club committee yesterday launched the summer calendar
of activities and promises a variety of exciting events
ranging from the traditional BBQs, bingo games, fairs and
even a special pop-musical concert.

28 children receive
the Holy Confirmation
(Sunday, 1st July 2007)
17 boys and 11 girls
received their Holy Confirmation on Sunday. The
sacrament was administered by Gozo Bishop Mons Mario
Grech. Archpriest Dun Frankie Bajada also took
part. Those who received the Confirmation participated
in the Liturgy. The Lauretana Choir was under the
direction of Lelio Spiteri.

five years old!

The idea of having a website dedicated solely to our village
started on March 2002 when Joseph Sultana, Kevin Cauchi and
Anthony Scicluna decided to launch Ghajnsielem.com. The aim
was to keep the emigrants and local citizens up-to-date with
what's happening in our village.

Activity for the Ghaqda Armar

It was a
three-hour of recreation for over 100 persons for a
fund-raising activity in the main square. The event

Work on the Musical Archive starts

After
issuing a call for offers, and following the tender
selection process, the St Joseph Band Club committee
finally gave the green light to start the work on the
Musical Archive. The Archive will be officially
inaugurated in August 2008 - on the 80th Anniversary of
the band club.

in Tolfa

Local Council organized a
five-day cultural
visit in Tolfa, Italy for the Year 6 Primary school students.
This trip was made possible thanks to the
European Union Student Exchange Programme.
The twinning between Tolfa and
Ghajnsielem has been active and alive for the past five
years.

Bajada in the United States

Archpriest Fr Frankie Bajada visited the Ghajnsilmizi residing in the United States. A special event was held
on the 16th of June at the Maltese Center in New York

Hundreds
welcome Dun Gorg’s Reliquary
(Tuesday, 5th June
2007)
After the canonization ceremony in Rome, where Dun Gorg
Preca (now San Gorg Preca) was proclaimed the first
Maltese Catholic Saint, the reliquary containing his
blood was brought to Gozo by Bishop Mario Grech where it
was taken around the main villages including Ghajnsielem
for the veneration of the people.

At the
Ghajnsielem FC's annual general meeting, Raymond Grech
and Alfio Rapa were re-elected for their respective
roles of Club president and treasurer, edging in the
vote last-hour nominee Joe Cauchi, and contestant Steve
Cutajar. Also at the well-attended meeting, Frank
Buttigieg was elected for the post of Club secretary,
outvoting nominee Paul Stellini.more
Id-Dulli and Co. attract the crowds

Maltese comedian Joe
Farrugia (famously known as "id-Dulli")
together with his
production company performed
a light hearted situation
comedy
at the Ghajnsielem Parish Center. The name of the play
was "Il-Kaptani" (the captains).
All profits went for the Ghaqda Armar and for the
upcoming feast activities.

Archpriest Bajada to visit America

Archpriest Fr Frankie Bajada will visit our emigrants
residing in the United States in the second week of
June. A special event will be held on the 16th of June
where the Archpriest will have the pleasure to meet

Feast of
St Joseph celebrated

On Sunday afternoon, Ghajnsielem celebrated the feast of St. Joseph the Worker, known in Maltese as 'San Guzepp Haddiem'. After
the High Mass with the participation of the orchestra and
Lauretana choir the St Joseph Band Club accompanied the
statue of St Joseph around the main streets of Ghajnsielem.

New Bar at Parish
Centre Inaugurated

weeks of hard work, Archpriest Can. Frankie Bajada this
evening officially inaugurated the new Bar of the Parish
Center. The bar was moved from its former location to
the hall area in order to minimize the sound and
inconvenience which might have been caused with the

U/14 team crowned
league Champions

Ghajnsielem's
Under/14 team are league champions after beating Nadur
Youngsters 2-0 in a title decider. Gabriel Cordina, the
Club's overall top scorer opened the score in the first
half direct from a corner kick. Kenny Hili, one of the
Club's brightest prospects, made sure of the title with

in the Super Cup

GFA Cup winners Ghajnsielem
succumbed by 2-1 to league champions Nadur in the final
for the Super Cup. Another huge crowd made its way to
the Gozo Stadium to ruin their throat in support of the
valiant Blacks. Ghajnsielem paid the price for their
exertions this Monday and looked a tired outfit.

Wash Marathon in Aid of Youths

Over 50
youths from Ghajnsielem accepted the invitation to join
thousands of young people from all over Europe to visit
Loreto, Italy next Summer for the Italian National Youth
Meeting. The Ghajnsielem Parish together with the youths
organized a Car Wash Marathon to raise funds to reduce
the flight costs.

GFA Cup!

In front of a packed Gozo
Stadium including dignitaries and a national television
audience, Ghajnsielem beat Victoria Hotspurs 2-0 to
reclaim the GFA. Cup. Marian Bucur scored both the goals
in the opening session. The Blacks will now face newly
crowned Gozitan champions in the Super Cup final on
Thursday.

44th Congress of Holy
Name Society

The 44th
Congress of the Holy Name Society was held this
afternoon with a programme of various activities. A
cortege, with the participation of the St Joseph Band,
left the Apparition Square at 5.30pm. The highlight of
the event was a concelebrated Mass in the main square
led by Bishop Mario Grech.

Good Friday Liturgy

Today the
Liturgy of the Passion and Death of Our Lord is
celebrated. The liturgy started at 3.00pm in complete
silence traditionally marking the hour of Christ's death
on the cross. There was then the reading of the Passion
account from the Gospel of John which was read
dramatically, with the priest and the congregation all
taking part.

Maundy Thursday: Last
Supper Commemoration

During
the Maundy Thursday Mass, the commemoration of the last
supper of Jesus Christ and the institution of the
Eucharist and Ordination are celebrated. Archpriest Fr.
Frankie Bajjada , presided at the evening Mass. As the
traditional practice there was the washing of feet a
ritual that involves the priest washing the feet of
twelve parishioners chosen in advance to represent
Jesus’ washing the feet of the twelve apostles.

'Musica Sagra' Band
Concert at Old Parish Church

St.
Joseph Band annual sacred music concert which was held
at Ghajnsielem old, parish church, attracted a full
house for a generous program of seven works related to
the Holy week. The eve incorporated a mixture of marches
from different composers. The Director was Mro Sunny
Galea A.L.C.M. helped by his assistant Mro. Frankie
Debono.

Re-enactment
of the Via Sagra

Following the re-enactment of
Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem this morning, the Ghajnsielem
Parish organized another re-enactment - this time
showing us all the stages that Christ passed during his
passion and death or in other words the Via Sagra (Triq
tas-Salib).

Holy Week starts off
with Palm Sunday

The catholic church is today celebrating Palm Sunday.
This day observes the
triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem, that was marked by
the crowds who were in Jerusalem for Passover waving palm
branches and proclaiming him as the messianic king.
Ghajnsielem commemorated this event with the
re-enactment of Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem.

Our Lady of Sorrows Pilgrimage

Hundreds of Ghajnsilmizi followed the solemn procession of
Our Lady of Sorrow which went round the main streets. The
procession took the form of a pageant with various
participants dressed up in period costumes to represent
Biblical personalities. The feast which takes place before
Palm Sunday is considered as one of the most revered in the
Maltese islands.

Funeral Marches CD

issued another Funeral Marches CD entitled 'Sul
Calvario' offering a collection of twelve funeral band
marches composed by Mro. Galea. Each march bears its own
special structure and characteristic. However all of
them are rich in harmonious and soothing melodies.

Happy Birthday Archpriest Bajada!

School hall on Tuesday evening to make a surprise
birthday party to Archpriest Frankie Bajada.

Century-old ex-voto
Niche restored

Wirt
Ghawdex today inaugurated the restoration of a
century-old ex-voto niche in Mgarr, in the presence
of Gozo Minister Giovanna Debono and Ghajnsielem
mayor Francis Cauchi. The painting, depicting two
Gozitan fishermen on a boat invoking the help of the
Blessed Virgin and Saints John the Baptist, Francis
of Assisi and Peter the Apostle went missing in
2005.

Spiteri family

Yesterday
week Bishop Mario Grech celebrated thanks-giving
Mass at the Spiteri family home in St Anthony
Street, Ghajnsielem, to celebrate Amelia Spiteri's
100th birthday. Debora Cassar, a young local singer,
sang during the Mass. A reception was later held at
which Minister Giovanna Debono and some neighbours,
were present.

Pamela Aguis makes Ghajnsielem proud

concert was given by the Regina Opera Company of
Brooklyn, Malta was represented by composer Joseph
Vella with his song Wahdi, and was interpreted
by soprano Pamela Agius. itics wrote that she was
really able to get into the piece emotionally and
that the contrast in the middle section proved to be
very exciting.

Archpriest Bajada visits Rome and Loreto

Archpriest
Fr Frankie Bajada together with Rudolph Cauchi,
Brian Muscat and Lelio Spiteri visited Rome and
Loreto. It was a unique experience considering the
fact that Archpriest Bajada visited Loreto for the
very first time. Here, an agreement was reached
regards the renewal of the aggregation between the
Shrine of Our Lady at Loreto and our local Parish
Church.

Second
league loss of the Season

Ghajnsielem fielded a severely depleted side to face
championship contenders Sannat Lions. They were
without their two main strikers and midfielder
making Blacks vulnerable from set-pieces. The first
goal was scored in the dying seconds of the first
session demoralizing Ghajnsielem. Eventually Sannat
made their superiority count by adding two more
goals.
