The Mgarr Fair

The committee responsible for all external functions during our feast, for the second year running, has organized the Imgarr Fair which offers an opportunity of relaxed entertainment for all the Gozitan people.  The fair also helped the committee in fund raising to finance all the functions during the feast.

The diagram below shows how the fair was organized in Imgarr Harbour.

The Rabbit Game was organized before in Ghajnsielem but this time it was on much larger scale.  The game consisted of making a circle with wooden boxes, each box has three doors, and on top of each door there is a number.  The game was played by putting an upside down box with a rabbit inside in the middle of the circle.  The participators will buy numerical tickets, and the upside down box is removed.  The winner will be that person which his number on the ticket match with the number on top of the door the rabbit enters from.  The winner will take Lm5 as a reward simultaneously.

The second game was the Bottle Game.  Several winery, juices and spirit bottles were placed on a table.  The participators will have a number of iron circles and stand several meters away from the table.  Those persons who exactly hit the bottles will take the same bottle as a reward.

In the far corner stood the Household Goods stand, which offers the opportunity of winning a household good with few cents.  The participators buy numerical tickets, each ticket is chosen randomly.  A numerical wheel is turned and the winner will be that person whose tickets match the number the wheel stopped at.  The winner will have the chance to choose from the range of products that stand there.

The fair also featured a Snack Bar that offered hamburgers, cheeseburgers and hotdogs.  Opposite to the Snack bar there was the Main Bar that offered all kinds of soft drinks and other alcoholic drinks.
