Residents
oppose mobile phone antenna
(Wednesday,
16th October 2002)
St
Anthony's street residents have petitioned the local council
and Vodafone Malta not to install a telecommunications antenna
on a block of flats in their street. A petition signed by
about 70 residents, states that until it is proved that telecommunications
antennae pose no danger, they should not be set up. They
insist that one should be aware of the dangers of the
antennae.
Those
who intend to built the antenna will not be the ones to suffer
any consequences, the residents added.
The
residents of the block of flats, have also complained to the
Malta Envoirmental and Planning Authority (MEPA).
