Christmas Eve: A night for kids or ...?

Wednesday, 25th December 2002

Christmas Eve is always eagerly awaited by children for Santa Claus and gifts.  Tuesday at around 6pm, Santa Claus was about in Ghajnsielem delivering presents to all the kids.  Santa Claus even visited some of our local restaurants and bars.  Before the Mass at midnight there was the traditional Christmas sermon this year performed superbly by Manwel Xuereb. During the sermon a mime was held together with the singing of Christmas Carols.

But, for who is exactly Christmas, kids or grownups?  After Mass, the Christmas Village which is held in the local Pjazza was filled with hundreds of Ghajnselmizi, everybody sharring Christmas greetings.  Some, as usual were even still there in the early hours of the morning, drinking coffee from Santa’s Coffee Shop.
