Tal-Balzunetta's famous watermelons
Special Feature

The popular 'Marc Tal-Balzunetta' is well known for the euphoric celebrations especially from the revellers. One can easily notice that most revellers wear the same garment colors and hold a watermelon in their hands while dancing with the tunes of 'Viva x-Xemx' and 'Ta' Garrew' marches. The watermelon is filled with a mix of cocktails and it is years-old tradition only used in Ghajnsielem specifically for Friday's demonstration march. Ghajnsielem.com has followed the process of making these famous watermelons just a few hours before the 2008 band march begins.

Please note that this feature is not intended to promote or encourage alcohol and excessive drinking.

Step 1: Plan the cocktail mix carefully

Step 2: Buy the watermelons

Step 3: Buy all the necessary ingredients for the cocktail mix

Step 4: Buy a plastic pipe tube

Step 5: Cut the upper part of the watermelon very slowly

Step 6: If the cutting process is not done slowly, the watermelon will split

Step 7: The red flesh is removed leaving only the green skin

Step 8: The cocktail ingredients are then mixed together

Step 9: A hole has to be made for the tube pipe

Step 10: The watermelons are finally ready!

Celebrations start!

The very final process...
