CUP FINAL LINE-UP

The Cutajar Cup was a knock-out competition organized in the 1959/60 season, a season during which the first division league was not contested. The trophy for this competition was donated by the firm Emmanuel Cutajar of Blata l-Bajda. Għajnsielem won this competition by eliminating Xagħra Young Stars and Nadur Youngsters on the way to the final, and by beating St. George's in the cup final. The Blacks' hero in this competition was Benigno Magro who scored a brace in each cup-tie on the way to the final and the decisive goal against St. George's. This was the only time that this competition was held, and the cup now rests in the Frans Magro Trophy Room, at J.F. de Chambray Street.
