Blacks
stop the rot
June
1
Ghajnsielem F.C. ended the
tumultuous 2002/03 season on a high note by winning the G.F.A. Cup. They
did so beating none other than the old foe from up the hill, the Nadur
Youngsters, recently crowned champions and winners of an assortment of cup
competitions. A Tarik Belhaj goal direct from a free-kick and a Dione
Lautier goal set the Blacks on course. Nadur reduced the arrears through
an Anthony Portelli penalty. Aloy Ihebulu restored the two goal lead, only
for Portelli to score again for the definitive 3-2 score line.
