Weekend Round-up
November 28

Ghajnsielem's Under/14 team beat Kercem A. 4-2 (Kenny Hili 3, Gabriel Cordina) to continue with their solid start to the league season. The Under/19 lost to S.K. Victoria W. 1-3 (Jonathan Grech), in a match that was abandoned. Nadur Youngsters took sole leadership of the 1st division table with a 1-0 win over Kercem Ajax. Sannat Lions beat Xewkija Tigers 3-0 to move into a second place tie with the same team at the end of the first round.

Primary School team unstoppable
November 28

Ghajnsielem's Primary School team reeled off four more victories in as many outings to keep their perfect record. They beat Conservatory School (2-0), Nadur (5-0), Sannat (2-1) and Victoria (2-0).

Youth teams on a roll
November 27

Ghajnsielem's youth teams are all enjoying good starts to their league commitments. This trend continued over the week-end with wins for the Under/19 and Under/12 sides. The Under/19 beat Sannat Lions 4-2, with all four goals scored by left-footed Blacks: Ryan Grima, Roderick Apap, Gary Sultana and Lawrence Haber. The Under/12 beat S.K. Victoria W. 5-1. Adrian Cordina surged to the top of the team's scoring list with a hat-trick. Joseph Azzopardi and Thomas Camilleri scored the other two goals.

Blacks still winless
November 20

Ghajnsielem closed their first round commitments with a goalless draw against bottom of the table S.K. Victoria W. The result left the Blacks mired in relegation trouble along with the same Wanderers and well adrift of the other five clubs in the first division. Nadur Y. beat Xaghra U. 2-0 to join Xewkija T. on top of the table. Ghajnsielem's Under/12 team beat Xaghra U. 9-0 (Lornie Mizzi 3, Luke Meilak, Adrian Cordina, Joseph Azzopardi, Brandon Spiteri, Larry Debono, o.g.) The Under/14 crushed Qala St. J. 12-1 (Gabriel Cordina 4, Kenny Hili 2, Justin Buttigieg 2, Brandon Xuereb 2, Luke Cauchi, Robert Grima). The Under/16 side edged Xewkija T. 2-1 (Gary Sultana, Ryan Grima).

Primary School team on fire
November 18

Ghajnsielem's Primary School team has made a formidable start to the new season with five wins on the trot. So far Ghajnsielem has beaten Xewkija (3-0), Zebbug (6-0), Xaghra (6-1), Gharb (4-1) and Kercem (4-0). The true tests for this team will come in their matches against Victoria (often reinforced by repeating over-age players) and Nadur.   

Blacks fire another blank
November 13

Ghajnsielem's dismal start to the season continued with a 0-1 loss to a Xewkija Tigers team that was deprived of the services of the two new foreign players that they had signed before the transfer deadline. Sabri Rais headed in the decisive goal early in the second half. Saviour Darmanin made his debut for the Blacks in this match. Xaghra United won their third straight when they beat S.K. Victoria W. 2-0. Kercem Ajax moved to second place with a 2-1 win over Sannat Lions. Ghajnsielem's Under/16 side drew 1-1 against Qala St. J. (Noel Grech).

Weekend Roundup
November 6

The G.F.A. Cup competition kicked off with four preliminary round ties. Sannat Lions beat second division side Victoria Hotspurs 2-1. Qala St. Joseph surprisingly eliminated first division side S.K. Victoria Wanderers on penalties (4-2). the match had ended scoreless after extra-time. Oratory Youths beat fellow second division opponents Gharb Rangers 3-2. St. Lawrence Spurs will be Ghajnsielem's opponents in the quarter-final after they beat Zebbug Rovers 5-0.

Under/12 find scoring touch
November 6

Ghajnsielem's Under/12 side beat Zebbug Rovers 6-0. Adrian Cordina (2), Joseph Azzopardi (2), Luke Meilak and Lornie Mizzi scored the goals. The Under/16 team was eliminated from the knockout competition on penalties (4-5) by S.K. Victoria W. The match had ended 2-2 (Adrian Ciantar, Stefan Azzopardi).
