Ghajnsielem's season long slump continued unabated with a sterile
performance and 0-1 loss to Kercem Ajax. Nadur Youngsters notched their
sixth straight win beating Xewkija Tigers 2-1 and in so doing solidified
their hold of first place. Ghajnsielem's Under/12 team 22 game long
unbeaten streak stretching back to the start of the 2004/05 season finally
came to an end. The Blacks lost a hard-fought game against Nadur
Youngsters 1-3 (Adrian Cordina).

Joseph Buttigieg rescues
Blacks
December

The Blacks made hard work of their G.F.A. quarter-final tie with St.
Lawrence Spurs but in the end emerged victorious 4-2. Second half
substitute Joseph Buttigieg was the hero, as he had a hand in all four
goals, scoring twice; he had also earned a penalty, which was missed by
Renato Conceicao. Joseph Attard and Joseph Buttigieg scored in the second
half to nullify Spurs' shock two-goal lead. Renato Conceicao (see below)
and Buttigieg again, secured the win in extra-time. Xewkija T. had earlier
disposed of the other Division 2 high-flier, Qala St. Joseph in an eerily
similar fashion, to win 4-2 also after extra-time. The Blacks' Under/14
side fell at the hands of hot favourites Xewkija T. 3-7 (Brandon Xuereb 2,
Robert Grima). The Under/10 team lost a five-a-side tournament at the
Sannat Ground on penalties to Oratory Youths.
