Blacks hold annual awards

Ghajnsielem F.C. held the annual awards presentation dinner at the Club
premises. Jeremy Camilleri, Franklee Galea and Roderick Apap were the
recipients of the trophies for the Club's senior player of the year, most
dedicated player and most promising player awards respectively.

Under/14 coach Ivan Vella was honoured for
his championship winning efforts this past season and was presented with a
team picture.

G.F.A. Player of the Year

The
Blacks' Under/14 captain, Robert Grima was honoured with the G.F.A. Best
Player award for the category at the G.F.A. Annual Dinner. The Ghajnsielem
F.C. delegation was presented with the trophies won in the 2006/07 season:
G.F.A. Cup, Independence Cup runners-up and Super Cup runners-up trophies,
the U/14 championship and the U/14 knockout runners-up and Under/12 league
runners-up trophies.

Ex-Blacks dominate at the
Malta Football Awards

Ex-Blacks Daniel Bogdanovic (now with Marsaxlokk), David Carabott (now
with Sliema W.) and Saviour Darmanin (now with Valletta) all were honoured
at the Melita Digital Malta Football Awards. Top scorer Bogdanovic was
recognized for his outstanding season for the champions of Malta with the
Best Local Player and Best Forward awards. These awards capped a fantastic
season for our local hero, who has also made his return into the Malta
national team. Carabott's amazing work ethic, experience and fitness
landed him a share of the Best Veteran Player award. The charismatic
Saviour Darmanin, who had an unforgettable season with Valletta, won the
Powerade Outstanding Player, after polling the highest number of votes
during the M.F.A. Magazine on Smash TV. The Blacks' Charles Mercieca was a
worthy finalist for the Best Onvol G.F.A. 1st Division Player award, won
by Chris Camilleri of Xaghra U.

The Club holds annual AGM

At the Club's annual general meeting, held this evening in the presence of
G.F.A. president Mr. Joe Cordina and G.F.A. secretary Alvin Grech, Raymond Grech and Alfio Rapa were
re-elected for their respective roles of Club president and treasurer,
edging in the vote last-hour nominee Joe Cauchi, and contestant Steve
Cutajar. Also at the well-attended meeting, Frank Buttigieg was elected for the post of Club secretary,
outvoting nominee Paul Stellini. Joseph Scicluna joined the committee as
an uncontested member. The rest of the committee will be appointed in due
course. Jeremy Camilleri was chosen as the Club's player of the year.
Franklee Galea was awarded the most dedicated player award. Roderick Apap
was recognized for his excellent season with the most promising player
award.
