British American Insurance Cup
The British
American Insurance Cup was held for three seasons commencing from 1969/70.
In this competition, the league champions were matched against the
runner-up team, a few days after the conclusion of league play.
Ghajnsielem were ever present in the final as champions. In 1969/70 the
Blacks faced Victoria Hotspurs and beat them 1-0 (Loreto Galea). In 1970/71, Ghajnsielem beat S.K. Calypsians 2-0 (Vincent Cutajar 2). In the
last edition, Ghajnsielem dominated Oratory Youths and won 4-0 (Vincent
Cutajar, Vincent Galea, Loreto Galea and Raymond Buttigieg). Ghajnsielem
never participated in the British
American Insurance Shield which was open to second division
teams. |
