Damian Iriele joined the Club in mid-September 2004, on loan for a year from Oratory Youths. He was impressive in all areas of the field for the Youths in 2003/04 season. His versatility is notable. He can play in attack, in midfield, in defence and, in an emergency, even in goal. He made his debut for the Club in the memorable league opener against Nadur Youngsters. He featured prominently in the 3-1 win over these rivals to set the Blacks' season on the right track. A nagging achilles heal injury restricted his play and caused him to miss several games. His aerial prowess and strength is such that he was often pressed into action short of match fitness and in visible physical distress.
