Daniel
Dengaky is one of the top goalkeepers in Malta. The
Congolese player joined
Hamrun Spartans in 2000, and for the next season and a
half he was the club's regular keeper. He lost his place
for a period in 02/03 and regained it in the following
season. He missed parts of that season due to a shoulder
injury.
Daniel's
heroics with the Spartans did not go unnoticed and amid
the turmoil that engulfed the team he managed to stand
out. He was the M.F.A.'s player of the month twice: in
February 2001 and in November 2003.
Late
in 2004, Dengaky managed to obtain his free release from
the Spartans following Hamrun's failure to meet their
payment obligations.
He
joined Ghajnsielem F.C. when the January transfer window
opened on New Year's day 2005. He was registered in time
to feature in the Blacks' 4-1 win over Xaghra United the
following day.
