Franklee
Galea
made his debut for the senior team in a 3-0 2002/03 league win over Qala St.
Joseph. He immediately made his presence felt by
assisting on Aloy Ihebulu's goal which sealed the win. Franklee was still
young enough to feature in the Club's Under/16 side. He played a crucial
role in the Under/16's second place finish in the league and cup final
triumph at the end of the season. In 2003/04 he made a handful of
appearances in the first team.
He was part of the Club's
championship winning side of 2004/05. Most notable of his
appearances that season was as a second half substitute in
the third round win over Xaghra United, when he scored the
last goal in the record-setting 10-1 win. This was his
first senior career goal for the Club.
Franklee
has risen
through the ranks within the Club, playing for the Under/12, Under/14 and
Under/16 sides in the nineties.
He is an elegant player,
comfortable on the ball with an eye for goal. The future
looks bright for him and can look forward to more outings
with the senior side in the months
ahead. He has enough presence that he might just grab one
of the opportunities thrown his way and establish himself
as a first team regular.
