Joseph
started his career in the Club's minors. Before he could make his first
team debut he emigrated to pursue academic work abroad. He made his debut
in a solitary appearance in the 1992/93 season and established himself in
the first team on his definite return from abroad. Strong in the air and
an uncompromising man marker, Joseph immediately became a vital member of
the much improved Ghajnsielem rearguard and was an unsung hero in the
Blacks' rise to respectability. In the 2001/02 season the Club finally recognized
Joseph for his efforts by presenting him with the Most Dedicated Player award.
Although his
career is marked with several superlative performances at the back,
Joseph's most memorable moment must surely be his first goal for the Club,
scored in a 4-2 win against Sannat Lions. The goal was a first time shot
from outside the box that flew in the top corner of the net to the left of
the Sannat goalkeeper.
Joseph
played a prominent role in the Super Cup victory over Zebbug Rovers in
2001/02, in the G.F.A. Cup final triumph over Nadur Y. in 2002/03 and in
the memorable 5-1 triumph over Victoria H. in the Super Cup of 2003/04. He
was a regular early in the 2004/05 championship winning campaign and also
played in the end-of-season season cup ties which took the Blacks to
two cup finals.
