Larry
Buttigieg made his debut for the senior team in a 3-0 win over
Qala St. Joseph in 2002/03. He came on as a second half substitute
in place of his older brother Frank. He followed this with several
appearances in the following seasons playing up front or
on the left. He even made two substitute appearances early
in the 2004/05 championship season.
Larry has risen through the ranks within
the Club, playing for the Under/12, Under/14 and Under/16 sides in the nineties. He won the Under/14 championship with the Club in the 1998/99
season. Larry was an influential member of the Under/16 side that finished
second in the league and winners of the Joseph Portelli
Enterprises Cup in 2002/03. He scored direct from a
free-kick in the 3-2 final win over Nadur
Youngsters. Larry was awarded the Club's Most Dedicated Player award for
players of the Under/21 side in 2003/04.
