Where to
Go
All
amenities are in walking distance.
A daily grocery store
is situated just a few meters down from the
farmhouse while the main square (village centre) is 5 minutes away by walk. Here one can find a large
selection of
cafes and restaurants, a bank and other amenities.
There are also plenty of walking opportunities which
take you to some breathtaking sites and historical
places. For example, one can easily take a short walk to 'Calypso Cave' -
the cave referred to by Homer in "The Odyssey". From
here one can also enjoy a breath taking view of the
picturesque Ramla l-Ħamra Bay.

Moreover Ramla Bay is three minutes away by car
or 15 minutes by walk. A direct bus service is also
available. The
beach is quite wide and sandy. It is a particularly
golden-reddish sand which makes this beach different
from all other beaches in Gozo and Malta. Locals
often refer to this beach as the "Ramla il-Hamra" -
the Red Sandy Beach.

Finally one can also visit the Ggantija Temples -
one of the most important archaeological sites in
Malta. Ggantija originate from 3600 B.C - long
before the pyramids were built! The gigantic
dimensions of the megaliths have always struck a
chord with popular imagination. In centuries past,
some locals even believed that the Islands’ temples,
in particular those of Ggantija, were the work of
giants. Ggantija Temples are situated just a few
minutes away from Xaghra main square.
The
farmhouse is practically 5 minutes by car from
any location in Gozo including the city of Victoria,
the Citadel, the Azure window, Marsalforn and other
must-see locations. The nearby bus stop stage
(located just 10 meters away around the corner!) has
direct route service to Victoria, Marsalforn, Ramla
Bay and Mgarr Harbour. Please visit
